My site is loaded with audio & video. I decided to gather links right here on this page to some of my favorite stuff:
I make crazy abstract electronic music. CHECK IT OUT.
I did a phone interview with comedian Eugene Mirman on college radio a few years back. The bleeps are classic. DOWNLOAD OR STREAM HERE.
I produced an amazing radio show around a long phone interview with Daedelus back in 2006. Alfred is one of my heroes. DOWNLOAD OR STREAM HERE.
During the start of the American invasion of Iraq, I interviewed hundreds of Seattle residents about their opposition to Bush and Cheney’s war for Seattle’s Air America Radio affiliate AM 1090. This is a mix of the hundreds of audio snippets I produced that aired on 50,000 watts all over Western Washington, plus clips from our campaign Mayor for a Minute. I wrote some great copy for them too, which was often ripped off by other Air America affiliates around the country (like “Bringing Dissent from the Margins to the Mainstream”). So many people in Seattle inspired me with their passion. DOWNLOAD OR STREAM HERE.
My friend Ernest Gonzales asked me to record a mixtape for the Exponential Records website late in 2009. I mixed much of my favorite music from the end of the decade, including tunes by Lake, Moka Only, Menahan Street Band, Pretty Lights and Kettel. The mix is called “I Have Seen The Future” and you can hear the future by checking it out. LISTEN HERE. Check the track list HERE.
On a particularly snowy weekend in early 2009, I did interviewed James O’Dea, a brilliant former executive at Amnesty International, live on Boise Community Radio. This guy’s work is all about deepening human connections. Looking back, I was not well-prepared for the interview. But he is somebody to know about despite my shortcomings as a host! DOWNLOAD OR LISTEN HERE.
My homie Raymond has been producing wicked radio shows while studying music in York, England. This is intensely technical music for people who like it when the radio makes their brain dance. SCOPE IT.
In December of 2008, I traveled with Josh Martinez on 5 tour dates in Idaho and Montana. I produced a really slick-looking article for The Finger about the whole excursion, as a preview to a show he was doing in March 2009 at my old school, Evergreen College. This folder contains a two-part interview we recorded in the tour van right before he played his 5th show in 5 nights, as well as 2 exclusive live recordings from his Bozeman, MT show. SAMPLE THE SEX BUFFET HERE.
Mary Wood is a professor from the U. of Oregon who lectured in Boise during the summer of 2008 on just how drastic climate change really is. Many people I otherwise respect are convinced environmentalism is a sham. Tell me what you think of this 3-part presentation. PART ONE. PART TWO. PART THREE.
One of the best things in my A/V archive is this “lifetime achievement” video mixtape. First I put together a set of insane electronic music, then digitized some choice cuts from my extensive VHS collection and mixing it all together. You can download the video or just click to watch it online. If you’re not downloading to watch it on your own time, I suggest you hit play then pause and let it buffer a while. GET THE MYTHILLOGIC MIXTAPE HERE.
One of the most work-intensive things I’ve done on the blog lately was putting together trailers for 40 of my favorite documentaries. I’m going to do a follow-up at some point. POLITICAL/MEDIA AND ENTERTAINING/EDUCATIONAL DOCS.
My Amy Goodman interview was featured on Listen Up NW, airing on a dozen community radio stations around BC, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
At SXSW 2010 I shot some photos of Seattle’s own Blue Scholars performing at Emo’s.
