US media omission

The morning started with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) blaming Democrats for the use of over 100 filibusters by Republicans so far this Congress.

Next up, former Vice President Dick Cheney said waterboarding should have been an option for the underbomber. “I was a big supporter of waterboarding,” and other torture techniques he told ABC’s Jonathan Karl.

Vice President Joe Biden took to the airwaves soon after, saying Cheney is ‘not entitled to re-write history.” He told NBC’s David Gregory that Cheney “either is misinformed or he is misinforming, but the facts are that his assertions are not accurate.” We went on to emphatically insist the Iraq War wasn’t worth “the horrible price.”

Dick Cheney’s daughter Liz told a Fox News panel that we should look back at 9/11 and remember the civilian trials that prevented the government from getting information that could have prevented the attacks. Uh huh. Never mind the presidential daily briefing warning Osama Bin Laden planned to attack the United States that was ignored by the Bush Administration prior to 9/11.

Finally, in my search for 40 news stories on Sunday, I came across this interesting article on Antiwar.com and decided to write up something about it. I titled my story, “US media omission: Iran calls for end of global nuclear disarmament.”

Scott Horton of Antiwar Radio interviews Jason Ditz the managing news editor of Antiwar.com about the constant barrage of media disinformation on Iran’s nuclear program here.
